Tsawwassen Mills

Tsawwassen Mills is a 1.2 million square feet premium outlet shopping destination just outside of Vancouver, Canada. Home to dozens of well-known name brand stores, it is a hub of commerce for the area.

Ledcor Group was the general contractor for this project, which started in January of 2014. The project had many challenges at the start as it was located outside of electrical and sewer service areas.

Ledcor chose to pursue the Jobsite360 from Lind Equipment for this project to reduce the electricity usage and maintenance associated with bulb-based metal halide temporary high-bay lights. Especially at the beginning of the project, when the site was powered by generators, the Jobsite360 was looked to as a great way to reduce electrical consumption and costs. Additionally, since the electrical supply was subject to disruptions, the instant start and re-start capability of the Jobsite360 lights allowed the workers to continue their work with limited down-time.

On the project, over 255 of the 120W Beacon360's were deployed instead of 400W metal halide high bays. Ledcor used the Jobsite360 magnet mount configuration to attach the Jobsite360s to the structural steel and provide light to the workers throughout the site.

From the first usage of Jobsite360 lights in November 2014 through to the opening of the project to the public in October 2016, the Jobsite360 generated a huge amount of savings for Ledcor, the client, and the environment.

CALCULATING THE SAVINGS

Electricity savings of over $110,000

Replacement bulb savings over $10,000

Over 1,000,000 kWh of energy was saved
(equivalent to powering almost 100 homes for a year)

Over 700 metric tons CO2 was avoided
(equivalent to taking 149 cars off the road)
